Ingredients for Jaisalmeri Dahi Chana Recipe
1 cup kala chana (brown chick peas) soaked overnight
1 cup curd (dahi)
2 tbsp besan
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 tsp mustard seeds (sarson)
1/8 tsp asafoetida
1 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
How to prepare Jaisalmeri Dahi Chana Recipe
1. Heat oil in pressure cooker and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.When the seeds began to crackle add asafoetida, soaked kala chana, ginger-green chilli paste, turmeric powder, salt and 2-1/2 cups of water.
2. Close the lid of pressure cooker and cook for about 3-4 whistles till the chana is fully cooked. Let the pressure escape and then open the lid.
3. Mix besan to the curd and whisk well. Add it to cooked chana in the cooker. Bring the mix to boil. Now lower the flame and cook for about 5 minutes. Keep stirring the mix continuously so that curd does not split.
4. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
